Michael Vitucci, MS, DVM

Dr. Vitucci

Dr. Vitucci grew up in St. Louis, MO where he attended Chaminade College Preparatory.  He attended The Ohio State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Human Physiology. His graduate research examined velocity and force generating capabilities of single extra-ocular muscle fibers in the canine model. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and has a particular interest in orthopedic surgery, biomechanics, minimally invasive surgery, and arthroscopy.

Dr. Vitucci and his wife, who is also a certified rehabilitation veterinarian, owned hospitals in St. Louis for 15 years. The Vituccis’ have recently moved to our area with their son Anthony, who enjoys going to car shows, traveling, and eating Sushi. They have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Volkl, and a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo named Pickles. When not busy with veterinary medicine, Dr. Vitucci enjoys backcountry skiing, landscaping, and spending time traveling with his family.

Stifle Arthroscopy:  A minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows a to examine and treat the inside of a dog's knee joint. This procedure can help improve a dog's mobility and reduce pain caused by knee problems.

Hemilaminectomy:  A surgical procedure to treat spinal conditions in breeds that are experiencing muscle pain, weakness, urination issues, and occasionally paralysis from severe or recurring spinal compression caused by conditions such as Intervertebral Disc Disease.  Common breeds affected by IVDD: Welsh Corgis, English Bulldogs, Dachshunds
