Hospital Manager

Liz manages our technical team, but is also a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She has a Shepsky, a Domestic Short Hair Cat, a bearded dragon and a tortoise.  When she is not in the hospital, or hanging with her pets, she loves the beach or enjoying the anything outdoors.

Aaron is one of our Surgical Veterinary Technicians whose primary goals are to help pets feel better and to continue learning and growing in the fields of surgery and anesthesia. His family is his motivation, and he believes patient care, customer service, and teamwork are all what make his job so rewarding.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Kyra is one of the Certified Veterinary Technicians at CCVS who also happens to have an Associates Degree in Patisserie and Baking. She is especially interested in Emergency Medicine, Cytology, and fear-free experiences for pets, and is pursuing her certification as a Technician Specialist in ECC. Kyra has 2 dogs, 7 cats and a snake. In her spare time, she enjoys crafts, car repair, video games, and exploring nature with her husband and dogs.

Abigail graduated from UF with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science and plans to go to Vet School. She enjoys working as a veterinary assistant. In her spare time, Abigail enjoys reading and going to the beach as often as possible.

Jeffrey has worked in the veterinary field since 2017 caring for everything from small animals, to exotics, to large animals. His personal pets include many fish and his cats, Allistar and Nala. Jeffrey obtained his bachelors in animal biology from UF and is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician.

Tyler is one of our Veterinary Technicians that also helps maintain our various equipment around the hospital.  With a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and a minor in Zoology from the UF, his goal is to go to Vet School to become a veterinarian for ‘exotics’.  He has 25 pets ranging from dogs and cats to rodents, reptiles, and birds! When Tyler is not working, he can be found hanging out with his family and pets.

Elaine works as an Anesthesia Technician to help manage pain in pets that visit CCVS. In the future, she hopes to obtain a Specialists designation in anesthesia. Elaine has a BS in Animal Science with a Minor in Equine Science from Rutgers, and is currently learning to play the bass guitar. She has 2 horses, 2 cats, 4 dogs, and enjoys the outdoors with her mom.

Makenna is planning for a future as a Veterinarian, and her specific interests are in the areas of Fear-Free medicine, radiology, and internal medicine.  She has a hermit crab named Nike, and in her spare time, enjoys  doing wildlife photography at Sweetwater Wetlands Park.

Jessie is an experienced technician that holds a BS degree in Animal Science and an AS in Zoology.  She has 2 dogs: Beni, the hound mix and Mushu, the Pekingese.  Jessie also made room for 2 pigeons (Peep and Hope), 2 horses (Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy), a turtle named Tuck, and many, many chickens.  Jessie has a personal interest in Homesteading, and in her spare time, enjoys playing competitive video games as a team with her boyfriend and best friend.

Alyssa is working through Penn Foster towards her certification as a Veterinary Technician, but participated 4 years in the Veterinary Assisting program before graduating from Santa Fe High School. Her interests include veterinary emergency and surgery. Alyssa has one dog, a Beagle/Hound mix named Georgia along with 7 cows, some who were bottle fed in their early months.

Justin is one of our Veterinary Technicians applying to vet school after having graduated from Delaware Valley University with a Bachelors in Small Animal Science. He has a dog, a tortoise, a turtle and 3 snakes. Justin enjoys body building/weightlifting, and taking his dog hiking and to new places with friends.

Kaitlin is one of our Veterinary Assistants on a Pre-Vet track at UF with a major in Animal Science. Her minor is in Flute Performance, and as for pets, she has a dachshund and a beagle. In her spare time, she can be found reading, traveling, doing crafts, or somewhere outdoors with her friends and boyfriend.

Ashley is one of our Veterinary Assistants who aspires to be a Large Animal Veterinarian. She has an Associates Degree from Hillsborough Community College, and is in her final year at UF towards a Bachelors in Animal Science. In her spare time, Ashley very much likes to read.

Lauran is one of our Lead CVTs who oversees pain management for pets that need it. She has 3 Bachelor’s degrees in Equine Science, and a certificate in Veterinary Technology.  She has 4 pets at home - 2 horses named Boomhauer and Slim Willie, and 2 cats named Neener and Nobuyuki Wakabyashi.  In her spare time, she can be found getting out in nature through farm & horse work, trail running, mountain biking, and climbing waterfalls.

Ashley is our ECC Lead Certified Veterinary Technician, and very soon is pursuing a specialty licensure in her field. She has special interests in Neonatal intensive care, envenomation, and upper airway disease.  When she is not at CCVS, she enjoys spending time with her pets, Boone (a 4 year old black English lab), Spud (a 6month old bulldog mix rescue) and Snook (a 9 year old dsh cat, foster failure).  She also enjoys working out and is often found on the water so she can fish- as much as possible.

Dez received her BA from Temple University in 2005, and became a Certified Veterinary Technician at Harcum College in 2008. Currently, she has 2 Labrador mixes and one Red-footed Tortoise.  Dez's professional interests are  anesthesia and analgesia, and Florida wildlife and zoo medicine. Her personal mission is encouraging people to drink more water.  She and her husband own a local gym, so much of her free time is spent there with him, when they are not hanging out together with their pets.

Bree earned her bachelor’s degree from UF in 2020 and has since been pursuing her degree in veterinary nursing. Her professional interests are in emergency medicine and she has a passion for client education. In her spare time, you can find her traveling, hiking, or relaxing at the beach with her husband and two pitty rescues, Koda and Maverick.

Dawn became a Certified Veterinary Technician through St Pete College after graduating from UF with a Bachelors in Animal Science.  She has a Brussels Griffon named Sprout, and six cats- Koi, Dinner, Lilly, Ahi, Cheeto, and Mango. Her professional interests are in Orthopedic Surgery and Dentistry. In her spare time, she loves scuba diving, (especially cave/cavern diving), kayaking, going to the beach, biking, sailing, and working out.

Sylvia has more than 30 years of experience in specialty medicine, focusing on emergency, critical care and neurology. She has a Plott Hound and a cat, and in her spare time, she loves to go kayaking in the springs and rivers!

Blaise is a UF student studying equine sciences in preparation for vet school. She is very interested in veterinary ophthalmology, ophthalmic surgery, and sports medicine but primarily interested in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery. Blaise has a horse named Bob, and in her spare time, she enjoys fitness, anime, and spending time with her girlfriend, and their families.

Monique is an anesthesia technician who, since 2012, has held various positions in shelter medicine, animal behavior consulting, and specialty anesthesia. She would like to become specialized in anesthesia/analgesia, and enjoys the teaching aspect that her varied background allows. In her spare time, Monique loves exploring the outdoors, landscaping the yard, or napping in a sunny spot with her partner. Currently, she has one polydactyl cat (with very strong opinions about when she should be fed) and a few exotic reptile pets.

Melissa is one of our knowledgeable and talented Certified Veterinary Technician Specialists in Anesthesia and Analgesia.   Melissa has 10 pets of her own - 7 cats and 3 dogs! When she is not in the hospital, or hanging with her pets, Melissa can be found Jeeping, camping, gardening, cooking, or reading.

Britt, whose primary interest is in medical oncology, has previous experience in emergency medicine and has worked in the veterinary field since 2008.  When she's not helping 'kick cancer's butt', she enjoys yoga, reading, and hanging out with her two cats, Persephone and Hades and a terrier mix, Lowla.

Mackenzie is one of our Veterinary Assistants who is at UF majoring in Zoology. She aspires to be a Veterinarian, and she herself has 2 beagles, Tucker and Remi. When she is not working or studying, her time is spent training for triathlons with her parents, and is also a member of the Triathlon Club at UF. She also enjoys Disney with her family.

Stephanie is one of our Oncology Veterinary Technicians who also has particular interests in pain management and quality of life support. She has 6 cats, 3 indoor and 3 outdoor, and enjoys hiking, exploring and gardening. In her spare time, she spends time with her husband and son, and creates art that she shares in art shows and markets.

Kelli's passion is to keep her patients asleep and pain-free. Originally from the Washington DC area, Kelli has a bachelor’s from UF and an associate’s in veterinary technology. Previously, she was the manager of one of the largest primate sanctuaries in North America. When not running anesthesia, Kelli spends her time with her family, her 2 dogs (Marty and Sammy) and her 2 cats (Jake and Bella), as well as paddle boarding, hiking and relaxing by the water.

She is currently attending UF as an Animal Science major, has 3 cats and a Jack Russell Terrier. If she the opportunity, Victoria spends her free time studying with friends.

Ashley has been Certified as a Veterinary Technician since 2018, and is also Certified as an equine massage therapist. She lives on a farm with over 50 animals that include horses, cats, chickens, ducks, geese, cows, and her 4 dogs, Keelyn, Hank, Cletus and Roscoe. In her spare time, she rides horses and tends to the farm with husband, Austin.

Gloria is one of our Veterinary Assistants that is pursuing Vet School once she completes her BS in Zoology. She has two Associate degrees, one in Zoology, and one in Zoo Animal Technology, and is very interested in animal trining using operant conditioning. Gloria has 2 cats, 1 dog, 1 python, 1 slider, and 3 axolotls. In her spare time, and she treasures time with her girlfriend and family.
